Utah drivers understand the dangers of driving after consuming alcohol or illegal drugs. However, people may not consider that prescription drugs can cause the same impairment while driving. Driving under the influence of drugs, even prescription drugs, could lead to an accident involving serious injuries and even death.

Should the Utah divorce class come sooner in the process?

As part of the divorce process in Utah, parties are required to attend an orientation class for parents that lasts one hour. Currently, the class is taken toward the end of the divorce proceedings. Some lawmakers want to move the course to the beginning instead.

Fatal DUI: Driver will stand trial in Utah

As a follow-up to a story first reported here on Sept. 4 ("Utah woman run down in DUI car accident"), the driver believed to be responsible for a Utah woman's death will stand trial. Reports indicate that prosecutors provided enough evidence at a preliminary hearing on Nov. 26 to convince a judge to order the man to stand trial in connection with this tragic DUI death. His next court appearance is currently scheduled for Dec. 19.
