When charged with a crime, it is often in individuals’ best interests to determine how to handle the situation. In particular, parties may want to gain a better understanding of the allegations they face and their possible defense options. Because each case is different, any person facing DUI charges may want to ensure that he or she chooses the best legal path.

One man in Utah will certainly want to understand his predicament after recently being charged. Reports stated that the man had allegedly been driving a vehicle when a police officer purportedly saw the man’s vehicle traveling over 100 mph. Officers tried to stop the vehicle by utilizing a roadblock, but the man had already passed the intended location of the roadblock.

Police were later informed that the vehicle had crashed into a house. The vehicle hit a room where a 5-month-old baby had been sleeping, and she suffered injures in the incident. As a result, the man is currently facing charges for DUI, reckless driving and possession of a dangerous weapon while under the influence. It was noted that the man consented to have his blood drawn for chemical testing, but the results of those tests were not disclosed in the report.

Dealing with allegations of DUI is a personal and serious experience. In order to determine what legal routes he may feel most comfortable with, this Utah man may want to fully review his options for creating and presenting a criminal defense. Information obtained from local legal resources may prove helpful and reliable.
