An arrest of any type could have negative consequences on a person’s life. Even without a conviction, a person charged with DUI could face immediate impacts. In many cases, those effects could pertain to aspects of their professional lives and could easily result in job loss. Unfortunately, that type of situation is not altogether uncommon.
It was recently reported that the Director of the Salt Lake City 911 Bureau lost his job under such circumstances. The man was reportedly stopped by an officer due to swerving out of his lane, which can be seen in dash-cam footage from the patrol car. The officer purportedly had the man participate in field sobriety tests, which he reportedly did not perform in a satisfactory manner.
The man also reportedly took a breath test, and the results of that test allegedly indicated that his blood alcohol concentration level was .214, which is nearly three times the legal limit. During the stop, the officer reportedly found an open container and a handgun in the vehicle. As a result, the man is facing charges for DUI, open container and a charge in relation to the weapon. It was noted that he was fired from his position as director the day after his arrest.
Though the man is already facing considerable consequences as a result of this situation, he undoubtedly wants to avoid any more difficulties. In hopes of doing so, he may wish to create and present a criminal defense against the DUI allegations. Information from local Salt Lake City legal resources may help him obtain reliable insight into his predicament.
